Он даже написал специальную статью, в которой отметил крайнюю важность использования советских материалов. Вместе с тем, он не раз проклинал тот день и час, когда ввязался в исследование советкой военной истории, поскольку был вынужден делать это без прямого доступа к совестким архивам.
Он также один из самых непримиримых оппонентов "Виктора Суворова".
В сети вывалены его работы по августовской кампании 1945 года. Могу уверенно сказать, что ничего сравнимого по глубине анализа в открытой советской литературе я не видел. Очень хорошие работы.
Насчет кампании 1942 года под Ржевом - Zhukov's Greatest Defeat: The Red Army's Epic Disaster in Operation Mars, 1942" . Думаю, что перевели точно.
Впрочем, он больше пишет не о поражениях, а о победах Красной Армии и о том, что ее боевой опыт исключительно важен как сам по себе (он считает его бесценным вкладом в военное искусство), так и как характеристика того, на что способен потенциальный противник, если его всерьез разозлить.
Масштаб деятельности Гланца виден из весьма впечатляющего списка его работ.
